Letter from the Managing Director

Dear Visitor,

Our website may have a new appearance, but its purpose remains the same: we would like to tell you who we are, what we do, what we would like to achieve and what we have to offer. Our aim is that our customers and any other interested parties should be able to access up-to-date information about the most important events, products and news from our company.

Teva is a global leader in manufacturing innovative generic pharmaceuticals, with a history stretching back over more than one hundred years and has got around 25,000 employees in almost 50 countries. Teva has the broadest range of affordable generic medicines in the industry. In the product range, there are painkillers, antibiotics, medicines for the circulatory and central nervous system, and products for oncological, dermatological and anti-inflammatory treatment.

Teva's operations in Hungary started in 1993, when Teva Pharma Kft. was founded to distribute pharmaceuticals manufactured in Israel. Later, in 1995, Teva acquired Biogal Pharmaceutical Works in Debrecen and has gone on to develop it into Teva's European manufacturing base today. In terms of production of active ingredients, it is one of the most important sites in the Teva Group. In 2000, the Human Group, which consisted of Humantrade ,trading company, Human Rt. and Humanpharma pharmaceutical factories, became part of the Hungarian company. In 2005, the Hungarian Teva group, which employs 2500 professionals, opened a new facility for manufacturing pharmaceutical ingredients in Sajóbábony. The TEVA Logistic Centre has been providing fast and on-time pharmaceutical deliveries to hospitals and pharmacies since March 2006, using the best 21st century technology. Business headquarters of the Hungarian Teva group is Teva Magyarország Zrt.;(Teva Hungary Ltd.) manufacturing activities are carried out under the wing of Teva Gyógyszergyár Zrt. (Teva Pharmaceutical Works Ltd.).

For 17 years, it has been our company's mission to provide patients with affordable, safe, quality drugs, give up-to-date information to the public and health professionals and take on an active role in order to contribute to promoting healthy lifestyles in Hungary.
